JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Producer to support our team in delivering 24/7 news to our informed, engaged audience. This entry-level position is a hands-on opportunity to work in a fast-paced news environment, gaining valuable experience in social media management, content creation, and journalism.
POSITION DETAILS:
Full-time, 40 hours/week
Flexible schedule required, as we cover news 7 days a week
Hybrid remote and in-person (office in Midtown Manhattan, NYC)
Compensation package includes $50,000/year + benefits
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative and editorial support to senior members of the editorial team.
Assist in writing, formatting, editing, and scheduling/sending the daily newsletter, using editorial content provided by senior editorial staff.
Upload the daily newsletter content to the Mo News website each afternoon/evening (Squarespace).
Review and publish the Daily Podcast video to YouTube every morning.
Assist in finding, clipping, editing, and uploading short editorial videos to IG and YouTube.
Assist in prepping, formatting and posting images for IG, using Canva templates and editorial content provided by other editorial team members.
Assist in daily tasks related to finding and sharing news, posts, and videos on Instagram, our newsletter, our website, our YouTube channel, and our podcast.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with Instagram, basic video editing, YouTube, Squarespace, and Canva, with a keen interest in journalism and news media.
This position has the potential to develop into a Producer role through experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with Mo News and a strong understanding of our brand.
Savvy with social media and optimizing content for social platforms and audience engagement
Keen understanding and consumption of daily news, including on social media platforms.
Experience with research, reporting, fact-checking, and editing
Attention to detail and deadlines
Strong familiarity with Instagram, including creating and sharing content.
Basic video editing skills (trimming, stitching clips).
Experience with YouTube or willingness to learn.
Experience with Canva or willingness to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Editorial experience is preferred

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Producer with a proven track record of excellence in journalism to help us support our 24/7 news coverage on Instagram, as well as our daily newsletter and podcast. This position is an opportunity to be a key contributor to our growing community of informed, engaged news consumers.
POSITION DETAILS:
Part-time (with potential to expand to full-time)
Approximately 20 hours a week (flexible)
A flexible schedule and ability to jump in when news breaks
Preference for Hybrid with some days in office (Midtown Manhattan, NYC) with potential for fully remote for a perfect fit candidate
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing day to day news coverage to the Mo News audience through Instagram, our podcast, our newsletter, and our website.
Helping research and write the daily news podcast 1-2 times a week.
Enthusiasm for keeping up with news as it happens – on various platforms – in a 24/7 news environment.
Writing, editing, fact-checking and posting editorial coverage on multiple channels.
Finding, reaching out to, and interviewing subjects to support news coverage when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
First and foremost, this person needs to be a voracious news junkie with a keen understanding of what stories are important to audiences.
An avid consumer of daily news across a variety of outlets, including on social media platforms.
Familiarity with Mo News and a strong understanding of our brand.
Proven editorial experience in news media
Experience with research, reporting, fact-checking, and editing.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks, while attending to detail and deadlines.
Strong command of Instagram, including creating and sharing content.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
