Good morning,

Here’s a lesson a 4-year-old will never forget. When Ariel Heller accidentally broke a rare 3,500-year-old jar at a museum in Israel last week, officials could have called the police. Instead, the museum is turning it into a teachable moment.

  • Ariel, along with his family, was invited BACK to the museum and returned on Friday for a private tour— he even came with his own clay vase as an apology.

  • With help from 3D technology and high-resolution videos, the jar could be restored and should be back on display as soon as next week.

  • A time for patience: Ariel and his family live near Israel's border with Lebanon— near fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. They have been visiting museums and taking day trips to escape the conflict.

Have a good one!

📌 POLLS SHOW HISTORIC GENDER GAP AS WOMEN MOVE TO HARRIS AND MORE MEN PREFER TRUMP

While women have been historically voting more Democratic, and men more Republican over the last few US presidential elections, this November could see the widest gender gap in American history.

The largest gender difference right now appears to be among 18-29 year old Gen Z voters. Both campaigns have been aggressively targeting younger voters, with Harris running up numbers among young women, while the Trump campaign thinks young men— long regarded as unreliable voters — can swing the election. They’re being called the bro-vote, or Zyn-vote (for the nicotine pouches).

THE NUMBERS
A recent New York Times/Siena College poll found male and female voters ages 18 to 29 are divided by 51 points. Trump has a 13-point lead over Harris among men, while women in that same age group give Harris a 38-point advantage. Flashback: When Barack Obama was running, younger voters of both genders backed him. Now, Democrats are increasingly losing young male support.

  • Among all voters, a new ABC poll shows that Harris has a 13-point lead over Trump among women while Trump has a 18-point lead among men. That’s a gender divide of about 31 points.

    • Trump has gained the support of white men, going from +13 points before the DNC to +21 points after.

MESSAGING
Both campaigns are heading to social media and other less traditional venues to energize young Americans. The Harris campaign has leaned into highlighting reproductive healthcare and using meme culture (Brat summer, anyone?).

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign is linking-up with male-centric social media personalities; from the UFC’s Dana White to Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy, gamer Adin Ross, and YouTubers known as the Nelk Boys.

  • The New York Times writes that the Trump movement to win over young men is “raunchy and irreverent.”

    • Many in the youngest demographic were in middle school when Trump was first elected in 2016. John Della Volpe, the director of polling for the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School, says, “Many [young men] saw Trump as someone who could be their version of masculinity” and see him speaking against political correctness.

  • On the other side, the Harris campaign hopes "Coach Walz" can pick up some support with his Friday Night Lights appeal and “mind your own damn business” tagline.

    • Democrats typically depend on getting about 60% of the youth vote in presidential elections. If Trump can swing enough men his way, that could pose a problem for Harris.

The Big Question: Will young voters show up in November? Only about two-thirds of the young men who plan to vote for Trump in 2024 got to the polls in 2020. While Democrats have typically had the celeb power, Republicans appear to be taking a page from their playbook with these new digital voices. The “Nelk Boys” have launched a $20 million voter registration drive trying to help drive turnout among younger men.

🇺🇦 LATEST RUSSIAN ATTACK LEADS TO ONE OF THE DEADLIEST DAYS OF THE WAR IN UKRAINE

On Tuesday, at least 50 Ukrainians were killed and 271 wounded when Russia hit a military institute and neighboring hospital in Ukraine's central town of Poltava with two ballistic missiles. A dozen more people are believed to be buried under rubble.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, "The Russian scum will definitely be held accountable for this strike” and ordered a full and prompt investigation.

CALL FOR AIR DEFENSE
Ukraine said Russian missiles hit targets within a few minutes of launch. That means, the victims, many in classrooms, had little time to find cover after the air raid siren sounded.

  • Zelenskyy repeated his call to Western allies in the aftermath of the attack to supply him with more air defense systems and lift restrictions on using their weapons to strike inside Russia.

    • “We keep telling everyone in the world who has the power to stop this terror: air defense systems and missiles are needed in Ukraine, not in a warehouse somewhere. Long-range strikes that can protect us from Russian terror are needed now, not some time later. Unfortunately, every day of delay means loss of life,” he said.

    • The country has received some air defense systems from the US and Germany, and the the Biden administration gave permission in May for Ukraine to hit some targets in Russia with US weapons.

  • It comes two and a half years into the full-scale war, and as fighting has intensified in the last month.

    • Ukrainian soldiers remain on the offensive in Russia’s Kursk region for the second month. Zelensky told NBC News on Tuesday that he is planning to indefinitely hold the territories it seized from Russia last month to force peace negotiations and a potential land swap. Russia currently occupies about 20% of Ukraine.

      • Russia’s air defense systems shot down 158 Ukrainian drones on Sunday, including those targeting a refinery and power plants near Moscow, according to Russian officials.

    • Russia has intensified its missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.

      • Last week, Ukraine was pummeled with the heaviest bombardment to date, and on Monday ballistic and cruise missiles targeted Kyiv causing loud explosions.
